The Colourful Burma
Artists of Myanmar

Arta Gallery is proud to present the first and only public exhibition ever held in Canada by various artists of Burma (currently known as Myanmar). We include the works of some well known and some yet to be known. The importance of Buddhism in the history of Burma is evident from a landscape dominated by pagodas and monks. Their contemporary works bring out the architecture, the daily life and beliefs of this colourful Burma.

Dabiri is one of the most famous contemporary Iranian artists and his fascinating and brilliant works will be displayed to public for two weeks in Toronto.

The Time Machina

"The Time Machina" exhibition revolves around the work of tree artists from Gdansk. Two of the artists Henryk Czesnik and Maria Targonska have created a prodigious body of work in Poland, while Wojtek Biczysko has been working in Toronto since 1991 and seriously continues to establish himself in the Canadian art scene. What these artists have in common is history, culture and an experience rooted in The Gdansk Academy of Art. How appropriate, that these artists will have a chance to confront each other's new work and their audiences in the Historic Distillery District during La Nuit Blanche!

Alexei Adamov is a young and emerging artist from Russia. He lives and works in the town of Taganrog near Asov Sea. His art captures a lot of Sea scenes and landscapes. He combines the highly masterful manner of traditional Russian realism with the modern vision and sensibility. In March 2007 Adamov participated in Toronto Art Expo In November 2007 Adamov will open a solo show in London (UK).
