Larissa Riajskaia
BIOGRAPHY
Larissa Riajskaia was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 1975. Larissa worked as an architect and artist in The Moscow Film Studio. She immigrated to Canada in 1996. She has devoted herself to her art fulltime for two years. Some of her works are in private collections in Europe and Canada. Immigration brought an acute sense of loneliness and an ability to self-concentrate as well as a desire to focus her inner world onto the canvas by searching for the best interpretation of the painted object and transforming it in painting and graphics. Larissa considers Turner, Van Gogh, and Picasso to be her teachers as well as sources of inspiration.
